Crisis Services

CSAW staff are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm by appointment. If you need immediate assistance outside of these hours, please contact the following 24-hour services:   

• If you are in immediate physical danger call 911 or call NUPD: 847-491-3456.
• For more information on emergency medical care and filing a police report.  

Physical or Medical Crisis

If you are injured or in need of medical attention, go to the nearest Emergency Room or call 911.  Evanston Hospital is the closest ER to the Evanston Campus, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Memorial Hospital is the closest ER to the Chicago Campus.  

Once you are at the ER, a medical advocate will be called to provide support. Medical advocates work with local rape crisis centers and are there to provide emotional support, assist you with advocacy needs, and help connect you to follow up. You have the right to decline these services. Additionally, if someone arrives at the ER and reports sexual assault or domestic abuse, law enforcement will also be called, but speaking with them can be declined as well.
